~Shadow of the Comet

Help Me...

I can't get anywhere on shadow of the comet. 

I've picked up tow branches, one rope ladder, and bought a box 
of films, I have also got the name of some people out of the 
bith register in the lybrary. After that nothing happens.  I've 
knocked on every door and there's been no answer.  Please help. 
Any hint's on what to do next ... ????

By the way did you know you can 

a) Go in the forrest (and get lost for hours!)

b) Visit the guy who helped out in the first expedition (50 years
   before) he lives in the deralict house.  Talk to the librarian
   and look at the census. I think it's on the table this tells of 
   all those people who are still alive from that time. 

c) Get shot by wandering too close to a couple of blokes on the
   screen to the right of the well. 

d) Spend hours thinking i) Why you bought this game !
                        ii) Now I have rope ladder I should be able 
                            to get in the graveyard.
